Susan Kneeland has kept her focus on teaching art to others for many years.

An accomplished, established, and widely recognized artist herself, she instructs others in a variety of aspects concerning the visual arts.

On any given day, you may find her outdoors with a student or two teaching en plein air painting and drawing.

Walk into a gallery, or museum and you might see teaching her students to critique artwork and learn more about the history of art.

Visit a nursing home or adult day care center, and you can observe her implementing the art therapy program she devised for the elderly and infirm.

Through the years, Susan has helped countless students of all ages achieve their artistic visions.

She boasts of a 100% admission rate to all of the art colleges in our country that her students apply to, encouraging her teens to keep their academic grades strong, while maintaining private art classes, to ensure their admittance. She will set up student’s work in her studio and photograph it, then burn CD’s to send to the submissions offices of colleges.  Along with these go letters of recommendation, which further enable her students to reach their goals.

Susan’s exclusive private classes keep the intensity and focus of the student on their successful learning process.  In her studio classes aspiring artists work in a wide variety of 2-D media. Beginners as well as advanced students are encouraged to trust their mark, and stretch themselves, by experimenting with different mediums, styles, sizes, and subject matter.

Many of Susan’s former students are working  in the  profession of art, gaining employment in a job that brings contentment and pleasure to their lives. Amongst them are  a successful gallery owner in Boston, some film majors, portrait painters, and other art instructors.

Many students use Susan as a resource to connect to the art world for alternative classes, such as 3 dimensional works, cartooning, and fashion designing.  She assists others in finding interest groups, places to attend art meetings, or art centers that delve into other aspects of art making.

Ms. Kneeland encourages her students to join art associations and attend bi-monthly portrait workshops.

To enjoy the possibilities of creating art for the sheer joy of it, or to seek art as your future profession, Susan serves as an advocate for your success.
